Oden Corporation’s new line of SERVO/FILL fully automatic liquid fillers can put your company in the winner’s circle. The SERVO/FILL automatic is Oden’s latest new product introduction. It follows up last year’s successful introduction of the SERVO/FILL benchtop semi-automatic filler. The SERVO/FILL benchtop ranges in price from $6,290 to $7,500 and has become widely accepted in the marketplace with satisfied customers located around the world.

The SERVO/FILL products provide Oden Corporation’s famous robust quality and high performance standards at a greatly reduced price. SERVO/FILL incorporates the benefits of twenty years of filling line design and engineering. Both the benchtop and fully automatic versions are ideal for use in the personal care products, petroleum products, household products, pharmaceutical, biomedical, chemical processing, general industrial and food processing industries.

Following Oden’s traditional philosophy, the SERVO/FILL automatic liquid filler is designed to provide the packaging industry’s fastest clean-up and changeovers. It will fill a wide range of container shapes and volumes from under 1/2 ounce up to 5 gallons and can handle products from water thin, foamy to viscous lotions, creams and gels. The Allen Bradley PLC and color graphic/text touch screen human machine interface allows for easy operator access to every filler control function including variable pump speed, volume (including volume adjustment on the fly), conveyor speed, diving nozzle functions, indexing functions, and line management and housekeeping functions.

The color graphic/text display houses product driven recipe setups for up to fifty product and container combinations. Now a line operator simply has to recall the correctly named recipe and with a touch of a single download icon, all the system parameters previously listed are recalled and reset according to the selected recipe. All adjustments to the guide rails, indexing system and diving nozzle system feature simplified setup and are equipped with permanently attached reference scales for easy, repeatable package changeovers. This combination of state-of-the-art, easy to use electronics and well designed hardware takes the frustration out of doing numerous product and container changeovers during one shift.

The standard fluid flow pathway includes a 33 gallon stainless steel reservoir with stand, cover and ultrasonic level control system. Each SERVO/FILL filler position has its own servo motor, its own CleanGear™ sanitary stainless steel gear pump and its own Oden 316 L stainless steel positive shut-off nozzle providing clean no-drip product cut off.

The new CleanGear pump has only two moving parts making it simple and durable. The tool-less design allows for easy pump installation, removal and cleaning/tear down when necessary. The CleanGear pump is a high quality stainless steel positive displacement rotary gear pump that meets the requirements of 3-A Sanitary Standard 02-09 (Authorization No. 1090). This is a premium rotary gear pump with an economical price tag providing a low cost alternative to traditional sanitary pumps. The pump body and 1.5" tri-clamp ports are 316 L stainless steel. Other pump construction materials include Teflon bearing liners, 17-4 PH hardened stainless steel gears, and oversized stainless steel shafts with spline drive coupler. Each Oden SERVO/FILL servo-drive allows variable digital control of the pump speed up to 500 RPM which provides 6 gallons per minute in flow. The CleanGear pump allows for additional flexibility by providing options of two other interchangeable gear sizes with capacities of 1.5 gallons per minute and 3 gallons per minute. Shaft seal options for the CleanGear pump include dynamic o-ring, mechanical or lip seal. The quick and easy gear size changes and seal options provide versatile and flexible functionality all in one pump. The pump ports can be oriented horizontally or vertically allowing for free draining.

The high quality of workmanship and rugged construction of the SERVO/FILL automatic liquid filler is apparent at first glance. The area beneath the filler is elevated and open for easy inspection and cleaning. The filler base frame itself is fabricated from sanitary welded 2" x 2" square stainless steel tube. The machine base is mounted on casters for movement and stainless steel leveling feet for final placement. The main stainless steel machine enclosure is rated NEMA 4. This watertight cabinet encloses the servo drives along with the programmable logic controller. This overall stainless steel construction and watertight design provides for long lasting corrosion free service in harsh packaging environments yet provides the fit and finish and easy to clean stainless steel construction required in the pharmaceutical, personal care products and food industries.

Every SERVO/FILL automatic liquid filler is equipped with a fully adjustable diving nozzle system for bottom-up filling and a 10’ long sanitary stainless steel conveyor with variable speed DC motor drive and four stainless steel guide rails with no tool adjustment hardware. Your SERVO/FILL automatic can be purchased with built-in expansion capability allowing you to increase speeds at a very reasonable price in the future as your production requirements and business grows. If your company’s applications include difficult products that change in viscosity or density over the filling run or from batch to batch, or if you have products that must be labeled by weight content or internally tracked and accounted for by weight, the SERVO/FILL automatic can be equipped with Oden’s patented NET/MASS^® system. This Coriolis mass meter based net weight liquid filling option can be built into your original machine purchase or it can be added in the future as necessary. NET/MASS also allows for the purchase of Oden’s Statistical Process Control Data Acquisition System. This software package allows for the collection of data and generation of trending graphs for mass dose/weight, mass flow, standard volumetric flow, density, weight and temperature. The SPC data reports are custom configured for each end user and can be saved on the filler's PC hard drive or at the end user’s choice of network location. Reports on every fill weight can be printed immediately or at a later date via end user’s network printer.

For those of you filling flammable products or flushing your filling systems with solvent or alcohol based cleaning solutions, the SERVO/FILL automatic liquid filler can be constructed to Class 1, Division 1, Group D explosion proof standards using the X-purge method.

Other optional features available include air pulse assisted product cutoff designed for clean filling of stringy products, vacuum aspiration systems for high foam product sub-surface filling, semi-automatic and fully automatic clean-in-place systems, and servo-controlled timing screw indexing packages for difficult containers such as soft ovals. Oden can assist you with line integration services and can provide stainless steel sanitary conveyors in any length and in widths up to 12", along with infeed and outfeed turntables.
