The Ideal System for Filling Shear Sensitive Products

Oden Corporation has developed a new NET/MASS^® Liquid Filling Machine that combines net weight filling capability with the use of a gas pressurized fluid flow reservoir controlled by a unique digital pressure control system. The combination of these two technologies eliminates the use of product filling pumps and provides for excellent performance across a broad range of product flows, dose sizes, and product viscosities.

The unique digital pressure control system, DIGIBAR™, is an exclusive state-of-the-art Oden design. The system directly sensed and controls the gas pressure applied to the product without the use of any analog pneumatic devices. This direct digital control provides 5 millisecond response, and resolutions to better than 1/100th of one PSI. This precision pressure control is under product recipe set-up control via the filling machine's PLC and color touch screen PC operator interface.

In operation, Oden's digital pressure control system allows the use of a gas pressurized reservoir as the motive force to move a liquid product through the filler. The precision pressure control allows highly accurate filling by assuring stable and repeatable flow rates through the Coriolis mass flow meters that are the heart of this net weight filling method. Liquids ranging from aqueous to viscous can be accommodated on the same machine.

This specialized configuration of the NET/MASS^® liquid filler is ideal for accurate filling of products that change in density or viscosity over the filling run or from batch to batch, and products that must be labeled by weight content or internally tracked and accounted for by weight. It will accommodate a wide range of container shapes in weights from 2 grams and up at accuracies to ± 0.20% dependent upon dose size and type of product.

The system provides a wealth of statistical process control data including mass dose, mass flow rate, standard volumetric flow, density and temperature. Every fill weight can be recorded and retained.

This new filler is available in fully automatic, benchtop and custom configurations and can be designed to meet CIP requirements.
